Sunday off

www.microlodge.co.uk

All going well with the latest build that will be going to the SECC.  So much so, that we decided to have Sunday off.  Gary will no doubt be a lazy sod and have a lie in, whilst I'm setting the alarm for 'silly o'clock' and heading up North.

Going to Dalwhinnie, unfortunately not the distillery, but onto Ben Alder estate as there is a new gatehouse been built, and by the pics I've seen, it looks stunning, so hoping to see that.

Then heading on to Culra Bothy, and I believe there's a rickety (does that mean scary?) bridge to cross.
The weather forecast is looking good.

Then on Monday, it's fitting the roof slates onto the Hobbit and doors and window in on Tuesday.

Caravan show, SECC

www.microlodge.co.uk

Another busy, but good day in the workshop.  We got the roof on the Show Hobbit that's going to the caravan show at the SECC,

Then, whilst I got stuck with the varnishing, Gary decided to make a table to take to Glasgow.  I'm sure he means well, but it looks like a ministers pulpit and he's ready to preach a sermon from it.

Tomorrow, we need to do a few finishing touches to the Wee Hobbit that will also be going along to the show and do some more brochure work.

SECC Camping & Caravan Show in Glasgow

www.microlodge.co.uk

The workshop has started to thaw out, and apart from the slight chance of industrial injury due to falling icicles, all is going well.
We are into assembly stage for the 'show' Hobbit, destined to attend the 2011 SECC Caravan Show in Glasgow, 3rd - 6th of February.
I see we had some glowing reports via the web from The Suzuki Owners Club, who had some of their members staying in the Hobbits at Kinlochleven over the New Year.

Below is one of their photos taken by Andy Stewart.  Thanks.

Then as soon as the show is finished, we start on the builds for The Willows in Abersoch, and I'm certainly looking forward to a wee trip down there.    I wonder if I can manage a wee walk in Snowdonia in company time??

Well, it's that time of the year again.

Tomorrow sees the start of the Hobbit builds for the SECC show and the start of the building season.
We're looking forward to also assembling the units that are to be heading down to THE WILLOWS  in Wales, who were voted Welsh campsite of the year last season.

Crampons and Axes

Had a week of 'googling', and it looks like camping pods and the whole concept of pod camping seems to  be taking off throughout the UK and Europe.  It's surely going to be an interesting few years to see how big it will go.

Well, I managed to get out to the hills this Sunday with 'Big Davie' for company.
I take my hat off to him though. He threw up 3 times, and was on his hands and knees on a few occasions crawling up the hill...yet still stuck it out and made it to the top.
He also managed to be within 2" of a self-inflicted vasectomy whilst trying to show off by jumping a barbed wire fence that ripped right through his 2 layers of trousers and has left a lovely 4" cut in his groin area.
I think the way I clutched my sides and rolled around laughing indicated that I was a tad unsympathetic to his injury.

Winter bookings

www.microlodge.co.uk

Well, good news from Kinlochleven. It seems their Hobbits are booked up every weekend through into next year.
On the minus side of course, it scuppers my weekend get-away plans.

We've been busy in the workshop making some long overdue alterations and got the office refurbished at last.
